What is Microneedling?
During a treatment, tiny needles (hence the name “micro-needling”) are inserted in the skin. The small needles puncture the skin and cause controlled injuries. The micro-injuries trigger your body to start its healing process. The purpose of the treatment is to stimulate new collagen and skin tissue for smoother, firmer, younger-looking skin.
Is it the same as the Vampire Facial?
We get this question a lot, thanks to Kim Kardashian posting a picture after her Vampire Facial. Yes, this treatment is sometimes referred to as the Vampire Facial because it causes pin-prick bleeding. The small amount of blood is a good thing! It means we are treating the correct layer of the skin. The bleeding only lasts for a few minutes and is removed after the treatment.
Are all Microneedling treatments the same?
Not all microneedling treatments are the same! With the rising popularity of the treatment, there are many microneedling devices. There are even at-home treatments. The most effective treatments are performed in a physician’s office or a medical spa directed by a Plastic Surgeon or Dermatologist.

What is RF Microneedling?
“RF” stands for radio-frequency. RF Microneedling creates tiny injuries in the skin, and it also surges radio-frequency energy into the skin’s dermis. RF microneedling is a bit more aggressive and suggested for treating deep folds/wrinkles and deep scarring.
Are results immediate?
No. You may notice plumper skin immediately after the treatment, but true results are seen when the new collagen and skin tissue are formed. Peak results are seen 4-6 weeks after treatment.
Is there downtime after a treatment?
Redness and mild swelling should be expected 24 hours after a treatment. However, there is no significant peeling, bruising. Makeup can be applied a couple hours after treatment.
Do I need multiple treatments?
For best results, we encourage multiple treatments. Most of our patients purchase a package of 3-5 microneedling treatments. We also suggest pairing treatments with chemical peels (our favorite is the Perfect Peel.)
